Colony Seeding Clip (2009):

Run length: 38 seconds

Summary: This was a collaborative effort between Stuart Whitmore and myself. Stuart came up with the original concept and created the animation footage in Bryce(tm). I added a sound track and the titling. The basic idea is an alien object is sending out smaller "seeds" to colonize a planet (hence the title).

Please note that the Attribution 3.0 license we have selected is the most accomodating of the Creative Commons licenses. It allows for commercial use and does not require that you license your creation under similar terms. It does require that you credit us for the clip that we've created in the manner we specify. For that, all we ask is that you add a brief statement within your video along the lines of:

incorporates the video Colony Seeding by Stuart Whitmore with sound track by Theodore D. Kuik, http://videos.viewmyart.com/clips/video-colony-seeding.htm

Please have the the text display on screen for at least half a second or so in a large enough font that a person with normal sight can read it. If you only use a portion of the clip, feel free to modify the above wording to indicate that you have used only a portion (or portions) of the clip.

The version near the top of this page may not be easily edited, so I recommend using any of the four alternate versions below if you've decided you want to try incorporating some or all of it into your video(s):

Colony-Seeding-320x240.avi (6.8mb)

Colony-Seeding-320x240.mp4 (9.7mb)

Colony-Seeding-480x360.avi (7.1mb)

Colony-Seeding-480x360.mp4 (9.1mb)

The first two versions omit the large black border (and the text "on a nearby planet). The border was added primarily so that the versions we submit to Blip, Revver, YouTube, etc. would be larger, thus reducing the substantial pixelization which would otherwise have resulted if we just uploaded the smaller 320x240 version to the video sharing services.
