Santa's Elves in an Alternate Universe (2007):

Run length: 1 minute, 58 seconds

Summary: Santa's Elves have a few complaints about the man in red in this parallel world where Santa is toy-obsessed tyrant.

Comments: Most of the animation and visual elements were generated in POVRay. The dialogue is a parody of the well-known classic poem "Twas the Night before Christmas". No elves were harmed in the creation of this video.

Dialogue:

(Narrator:) "Twas a week before Christmas in a far northern land.

Elves were toiling and sweating for a man they couldn't stand.

The Santa we know is as kind as they come,

But the Santa in this land" (Elf #1:) "He's a mean vicious bum."

(Elf #2:) "He mistreats and exploits us." (Elf # 1:) "We don't get any pay."

(Elf #2:) "We asked for it once, but he bellowed 'No Way!'"

(Elf #1:) "And to rub it in more, after he told us 'No,'

he laughed in our faces, saying 'Ho ho ho ho!'"

(Young Elf:) "But what of the children, the girls and boys?

He brings them such joy, when he gives them all toys."

(Baldus the Elf:) "That's a myth" (Narrator:) "exclaimed Baldus, an elderly elf."

(Baldus the Elf:) "Santa keeps all the toys and plays with them himself.

He has rooms full of toys, but he's always wanting more,

And if we don't produce them, he attacks with a roar!"

(Elf #5:) "We dare not defy him, or put up a fight.

'cause his reindeer are fierce, and he's taught them to bite!"

(Narrator:) "A rather sad story. I hope it's not true.

In light of this tale, just what should we do?

Let's be kind to all people, including our selves.

And be glad that our lives are not those of these elves."
