Ted's Abstract Music Video #3 (2007): Run length: 39 seconds Summary: A wild assortment of (mostly abstract) art pummels the screen, accompanied by some fast-paced synth/percussion music. Comments: Whereas the first two videos in my "abstract music" series were based on a "drawing-in-progress" theme, I went with a different approach this time, displaying a large number of separate abstract works in rapid succession, with a few minor animations added (similar to the technique I used for my 272 sketches video). Visually, the video tends to be rather energetic, so I tried to compliment this aspect by composing/mixing an equally dynamic sound track with a strong percussive emphesis. The abstract works were pieces I had created in 1999-2001 while experimenting with various ideas of form, color, etc. Most were drawn in Corel Photopaint. I ran across the aforementioned works while going thru the contents of my computer's hard drive with the idea of archiving some things off to free up space, and the idea of using them as the core of my next music video sprang almost immediately to mind. Larger versions of many of the images, as well as some of my more recent abstract works, can be viewed here. Below is a selection of some of my favorite works used in the video.
